Villar, condemn extortion, prove you are not beholden to any interest

Hontiveros to Villar: Denounce extortion activities by NPA

Saying that non-payment of the permit-to-campaign is not enough, LP senatorial bet and AKBAYAN Rep. Risa Hontiveros challenged presidential bet Sen. Manny Villar today to denounce the extortion activities of the New People’s Army.

“The imposition of permit-to-campaign and permit-to-win mocks our democracy. It is not revolutionary, it is plain and simple extortion,” the solon said, adding that like traditional politicians, the NPA has reduced electoral exercises into a money-making venture. “It is gangsterism promoted by so-called progressive rebel groups.”

In light of an earlier endorsement given by the Communist Party of the Philippines to Sen. Manny Villar, Rep. Hontiveros dared the NP presidential bet to condemn the extortion activities of the NPA.

Last year, right before its founding anniversary, the Communist Party of the Philippines said that Villar “seems to be the most patriotic and progressive” among the presidential bets, praising him for advocating the interest of Filipinos businessmen, workers and peasants and for his human rights record.

“I dare him to condemn the extortion activities of the NPA, especially the imposition of the permit-to-campaign and permit-to-win during elections. This would send a strong message to the public that he is not beholden to any interest, especially armed rebels who engage in extortion,” she said.

She said that while Se. Villar has already declared that he’s not paying the PTC/PTW, his partymates should also make the same disclosure.

“There should be a multi-partisan condemnation of the PTC/PTW. Extortion violates the right of voters to choose freely the candidates that they want to elect. It threatens the free and fair conduct of elections,” Rep. Hontiveros added.

Rep. Hontiveros, the author of a bill criminalizing the imposition of PTCs, said that the PTC/PTW is a form of election fraud and violence.

It instills a climate of violence that tilts elections in favor of those who have guns, goons, and gold. It is also a form of cheating, since the NPA, with the use of coercion, can campaign with impunity for candidates that they support,” Rep. Hontiveros said. ###

FILIPINOS SHOULD NOT VOTE FOR “MONEY VILLAR” IF THEY DO NOT WANT TO HAVE A CORRUPT & PLUNDEROUS PRESIDENT/PRIME MINISTER/BILLIONAIRE BUSINESSMAN LIKE THE NEWLY CONVICTED “THAKSIN SHINAWATRA”(EX-PRIME MINISTER OF THAILAND) WHO IS A “CLONE”; A “TWIN BROTHER”; MIRROR IMAGE OF “MONEY VILLARROYO” !!!

*$1.4B to be seized from Corrupt Ex- Thai Prime Minister & Billionaire, “THAKSIN SHINAWATRA” alias “MANNY VILLAR” !!!

Supreme Court rules Thaksin concealed assets, committed conflict of interest, abused power for personal gain.

The Thai government can seize $1.4 billion US from ousted former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, more than half of his holdings frozen in Thai banks, the country’s Supreme Court ruled Friday.

The nine-judge panel also ruled Shinawatra unlawfully concealed assets while in office and abused his power for personal gain.

The nine-judge panel of the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Holders of Political Offices delivered its verdict Friday in favour of seizing Thaksin Shinawatra’s frozen family assets. (Sukree Sukplang/Reuters)

The panel said it unanimously agreed Thaksin, a former telecommunications tycoon, and his ex-wife “still held shares in Shin Corp.” — which controlled the country’s largest mobile phone network — while he was prime minister. They also agreed that Thaksin had shaped government policies on mobile phone regulations to the company’s advantage.

But it ruled that “to seize all the money would be unfair since some of it was made before Thaksin became prime minister.”

Tight security was in place around the courthouse, amid government fears that Thaksin loyalists could react to the verdict with violence.

The judges applied mostly untested anti-corruption statutes in determining that Thaksin became “unusually wealthy” by abusing his position at the head of government from 2001 to 2006.

Thaksin’s assets, worth approximately $2.29 billion US, are frozen in Thai banks, although an unknown portion of his family’s wealth is ensconced in the United Arab Emirates.

Thaksin, ousted in a 2006 coup and facing a jail term in Thailand, was monitoring the proceedings from exile in Dubai, where he was scheduled to provide a running commentary via video link.

The judges reviewed at whether Thaksin illegally parked his fortune with family members because he was not allowed to hold company shares while prime minister, and whether his administration implemented policies to benefit his family’s businesses, an offence that has been termed “policy corruption.”

MONEY VILLARROYO EXPOSED BECAUSE HE WAS NEVER A TONDO POOR BOY !!!
MANNY VILLAR ALIAS “SINGIT AT TAGA”

Manny Villar’s house along Moriones Street in Tondo confirmed the belief that he was never poor, never spent his Christmas on the street and never swam in a pool of garbage. In the early 1960s, if you had a three-story house in a 60-square-meter lot in the business district of Tondo, you were considered an aristocrat.

Not too far from that Moriones house were shanties leading to the pier where children went to the nearby public schools for education. Such was not the case of Villar: he went to Holy Child Catholic School for his elementary education and to Mapua for high school. Coming from Moriones going to Mapua, Villar had to pass by three outstanding public high schools: Jose Abad Santos High School, Arellano High School and Teodora Agoncillo High School, and public schools in the latter part of the 1950s and 1960s were at their best.

But not for the Villar children. Because their father was a white-collar employee and they had a businesswoman for a mother, Manny and his siblings were able to study in the best private schools nearby. They had corned beef for breakfast (as told in Villar’s ad with Boy Abunda) and I am pretty sure suahe and other seafoods for lunch or dinner.

During the times that Villar claimed he was poor, his family actually belonged to the AB and upper C economic strata or the top 10 percent of the population. As in the C-5 controversy, in the conversion of agricultural land in Iloilo, in the landgrabbing of the Dumagats’ land in Norzagaray and his questionable use of socialized housing funds among many others, Villar shows a penchant for covering the truth.

I hope television’s investigative journalists can dig deeper into this so the poor people who are being used will find out the truth.

The desperation to lead the race in the surveys has brought the name of Mr. Villar to someone who offers bribe to his fellow candidates (Gordon and women Senator) to allow voters to choose only two candidates Noynoy or Villar. The point of the surveys is to align the minds of the citizenry to channel their votes to the winningest candidate possible. But even if Noynoy lag behind the surveys, he has many silent supporters among those who are innocent of the technologies available to air their views. And besides, surveys are financed by those who would like to passively alure the undecided to vote for the winningest candidate. Again it is clear that there is a debate about issues and surveys, but let us not close our eyes to the many problems beholding our country. The risk of uncertain voters going for Manny “the big man” Villar is still a threat to the aspirations of many. He may have the best jingle, the best advertisement, but his obviouse unrealistic touch to what are happening in our country adds to the frustration. The main reason for this is his ideals, hidden at the back of his mind, while showing off a brute and caring person who rouse from his being poor to his richly mansions. How then can he show two faces of the coin while on the same side. How stupid do you think Filipinos are?
We will vote people who’s vision in our country is profound. Who cares for the businesses owned by the Filipinos and who are both untarnished and/unscath on issues and intrigues. We will vote for Noynoy and Mar.
