First of all, I would like to correct my previous statement which is of course running on the opposite side of the lane insofar as law and jurisprudence is concern. Art. XI, Sec.2 of the constitution provides that justices of the Supreme Court can only be removed by impeachment which is of course within the exclusive jurisdiction of Congress to try, hear and decide cases of impeachment.

Point for another omission, its “ARTICLE XI, SECTION 2 OF THE 1987 CONSTITUTION.”

We would like to thank Fr. Bernas for enlightening us on the controversy about the appointment of a new chief justice by an outgoing president with just a few remaining months in office before her term expires. Actually, this not only a wake up call but a message that Gloria must listen before this country will plunge into another constitutional crisis. Nonetheless, this controversy will only add to a long list of cases raised and decided before the supreme court on midnight appointments. Undoubtedly, people in this country demands nothing more that our high tribunal must possess a high degree of credibility, integrity and probity unblemished doubts and suspicion, unquestionable faith, honor and commitment to our justice system.
