Manigong Bagong Taon, mula kay Noynoy Aquino

Nitong nakaraang taon, malubha ang mga unos na ating naranasan. Maraming trahedya at mabibigat na suliranin ang bumagabag sa atin. Sa kabila ng lahat, nangibabaw ang kabayanihan ng mamamayang Pilipinong tumulong sa kanyang kapwa.

Nawa’y manatili sa atin ang kabayanihang ito upang tayo ay magtagumpay sa pinakamahirap na pagsubok na ating hinaharap: ang makamit ang tunay na pagbabago sa ating bansa.
Sa darating na taon, tayo po ay may pagkakataong maibalik ang uri ng demokrasyang nagpapahalaga sa kapakanan ng buong bayan at hindi sa interes ng iilan lamang. Magtulungan tayo at magkaisa upang ito ay ating makamit.

Manigong bagong taon po sa inyong lahat!

    With all the promises being made, I would summarize the country’s problems in three major areas, and based on top-to-bottom priority, and these are: LEADERSHIP, JUSTICE, and ECONOMY. (1) Leadership in the gov’t and its key agencies are wanting. There is a clear absence of a good model. (2) Our judicial system is weak, hence, we have lawlessness eg mercy killings, private armies, shooting in traffic, etc. This is made worst when the president, judges, police, congressmen, and the military are involved. (3)Economic programs fail to address long-term benefits/solutions and are merely “bandaid” approaches ie our middle class continues to be very weak and we continue to depend on OFWs for our economic growth! We should also realize that “corruption” cannot be eliminated. Corruption will stay with us till kingdom come! But corruption can be minimized and controlled by addressing systemic problems (simplify processes) and using technology ie automation! Finally, implementation of the law must be taken seriously! Unless these three major issues or pilars of governance is addressed, Philippines will go nowhere!
