Sabi ni Noy...
"If you are guided by the idea of good governance, why shouldn't we be more efficient? Why shouldn't we achieve our dreams faster? With good governance, we do not make it impossible for those who want to do right to do right."
-- Noynoy, on the first issue he would address as president.
After much excitement, Sen. Mar Roxas and broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez are finally tying the knot at 3 o'clock today at Santo Domingo Church. Sen. Noynoy Aquino is among the principal sponsors. The couple decided to forgo a lavish reception at the Araneta Coliseum, and will donate the savings of P2.2 million instead to victims of Ondoy and Pepeng. Thank you, and congratulations!

The death toll from Ondoy and Pepeng has risen to 900, and about two million Filipinos have been left homeless. Many homes remain submerged, entire towns decimated. In the face of this national and human calamity, there were those who went above and beyond to lend a helping hand to their kababayan. In November, Noynoy and Mar will honor these everyday bayanis. Reproductive health is not new in the Philippine legislative landscape, but reproductive health bills have progressed little in the past decade owing to a strong and organized opposition from the Catholic clergy. The polemic has escalated in the last year due in part to the strong language coming from the CBCP. In July 2008, the bishops threatened to excommunicate politicians who would support the bill. Liberty Chee tells us why there is no reasonable opposition to the RH Bill, and why there is a need for a national reproductive health policy. »read more
